We power the world's largest finance and fintech institutions and lower the barrier of entry for small startups.Since starting in 2019, we've raised over $27.8M in funding and have over 2,000 companies signed up pre-launch. Our team consists of former data users from firms like Two Sigma, Belvedere, Pico, Bloomberg, Pinterest, and Google. We offer health, dental, disability, and life insurance benefits, as well as 401(k) matching and visa sponsorships. We accommodate 100% remote work, with teammates living around the globe and paid in their local currency.ResponsibilitiesAs a Product Designer, you'll work closely with our product and engineering teams to design and improve on our core product and implement growth strategies to widen our user base. Specifically, you'll be: * Owning the end-to-end design across multiple projects on both core product and growth features.* Working with external and internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize user needs that are ambiguous in scope and translate them into simple and elegant solutions.* Working with engineers to bridge the gap between design and technical implementation and implementing a high standard for new feature launches.* Defining design systems and steering the evolution of the product's visual language.* Motivating design-oriented decisions and standards firm-wide.The productOur core products are an API service and an enterprise web application. Here are some key highlights of our product strategy:* Product-led growth with low touch sales. We rely on product features like referrals, team invites and self-signup process instead of a traditional sales pipeline to scale our user base.* Enterprise-grade, consumer-scale product. (Like Slack or GitHub.) Our competitors adopt a traditional enterprise SaaS strategy, opting to hide their product behind a "request for quote/demo" and employing a high touch onboarding process with big sales teams. We believe we can outpace their growth by targeting the same enterprises with an institutional-grade product that instead has the ease of adoption and transparency of a consumer product. * Targeting a developer-centric user base. (Like AWS, Stripe or Plaid.) We pursue the exponential effect of providing products that enable developers to build an ecosystem of other products and tools.* Fast iteration. With multiple deployments per day.* Putting product needs before technical limitations. We have great engineers who will walk over hot coals to actualize difficult product requirements. What makes being a product designer at Databento exciting* You'll impact high-level product decisions as well as shape product design culture. As one of our initial design hires, you will largely influence the product design culture and help set the stage for our product's growth. As such, we value designers who take initiative and can design with ambiguity, and can contribute feedback on how to improve our design processes. * We're focused on product-led growth, not sales-led growth. We resonate with the pain that design is less prioritized in many enterprise products. At Databento, our product is the central driver of growth, and you'll be at the center of developing our product experience. Not only are our founders always raising the bar of our product's design quality, but our engineers, who usually fall into target user profile, contribute to advocating for and improving user experience. * You'll receive timely compensation rewards that reflect your impact Here, we believe in giving kudos when it's due. We measure your value based on your work and direct contributions you put in, and reward frequently and accordingly when it comes to pay and promotions. Additionally, we offer competitive base pay that is comparable to other top tech companies.Requirements* A strong UI/UX design portfolio and rigorous work experience (ideally, 2+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer or Product Designer)* Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Adobe).* Experience collaborating with engineers and other designers.* Experience performing user research, user flow mapping and presenting options to stakeholders.* Understanding of color theory, typography, interaction design, motion principles and visual hierarchy.* Keen eye for design improvements and visual detail.* Bachelor's degree in a design or technical field, such as HCI, Design or Information Architecture. Bonus qualifications* Experience with designing enterprise web applications or API products (e.g. Stripe, Twilio, Plaid, Segment, Algolia, Agora).* Industry knowledge in fintech.* Familiarity with responsive design.* Familiarity with collecting user metrics and analyzing user sessions (e.g. Amplitude, Heap, Mixpanel).* Experience with front-end web development (HTML/CSS, JavaScript).* Exposure to product management at high growth startup. Please include a sample portfolio or website in your application, if possible. #Salary and compensation

We use spectral imaging and machine learning to measure organic soil carbon, bringing down the cost of soil measurement and creating incentives for better soil management and carbon sequestration. We are looking for someone who is excited to be part of our mission and part of our small team, working on a wide variety of projects both for our customers and our various internal teams. Most of our work is Python (for the data processing end of things) and Ruby (for the web front end), and we’re looking for someone who is expert in at least one of those stacks (and willing to work in the other). This role is on our software team, reporting directly to the VP of software, and would work in close coordination with our product teams (data science, hardware, soil science) and our sales, business development, and field teams. This is a full-time, remote position, and we are looking to hire as soon as possible.About Yard Stick PBCYard Stick is a remote-first climate tech startup with cofounders based in Boston, MA and Oakland, CA. We are on a mission to reverse climate change with agriculture. Scientists and farmers alike know that climate-friendly agricultural practices have the potential to remove atmospheric CO2 at gigaton/year scale. When these practices are adopted, more carbon is stored in soils, improving soil health and fighting climate change. But significant measurement challenges have held soil carbon efforts back - until now.By reducing the cost of soil carbon measurement by 70-90%, Yard Stick will dramatically expand the opportunities for evidence-based regenerative practices to simultaneously improve ecosystem health, increase farmer income, and combat climate change. Current soil carbon measurement technologies are slow, expensive, and cumbersome, relying on conventional soil cores and labs to quantify carbon stocks. In contrast, Yard Stick is fast and cheap - without sacrificing accuracy. As a testament to our technology’s potential, alongside our scientific collaborators, we were awarded $18M across six USDA Climate-Smart Commodities projects, and we have additional grant financing from ARPA-E, NSF, CDFA, and other discerning grant-makers. We’ve also raised another nearly $18M from top climate VCs, including Toyota Climate Venture Fund, Lowercarbon Capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures (Bill Gates’ climate fund), Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund, The Nature Conservancy, Extania, Pillar VC, MCJ Collective… the list goes on!For more background, check out some coverage of Yard Stick in TechCrunch, Fast Company, and AgFunder. We offer competitive salary and equity (benchmarked to 75th percentile of SF/NYC), health/dental/vision insurance, a 401k, and home-office reimbursements. We have a number of founders and other team members with young families and have a strong track record of creative, flexible approaches to hours and communication expectations which let folks feel great about their commitments both to Yard Stick and their lives outside of work. We’re also a PBC, or public benefit corporation, which is an alternative corporate structure which protects our ability to prioritize climate impact over profits if the two are in conflict. (If resident in the U.S., then U.S. work authorization is required.)Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and InclusionYard Stick’s impact goals go well beyond climate science. Why? Our company operates primarily in the US agricultural sector, which is predicated on centuries of mass land theft and disenfranchisement of Native and Black people. This harm continues today. If we’re going to work in this sector, we need to leave it better than we found it.Consistent with our core value of “Pursue Justice,” we speak up about these issues, and we support emerging solutions and relevant policy efforts such as H.R.40 and S.300. We also publicly highlight the risk of further racial discrimination in emerging agricultural legislation like the Growing Climate Solutions Act.Regarding hiring and culture, we work to create a work environment where everyone feels confident sharing their ideas, problem-solving happens openly and collaboratively, and mistake-making is welcomed. We also standardize our interview process and questions to reduce “likeability” bias, benchmark salaries against industry databases to reduce negotiation, and utilize tools like the Gender Decoder. Climate change is arguably the most complex challenge ever faced by humanity - we need all of humanity activated to fight back, and that motivates us to build a erse team. #Salary and compensation
