We are building the operating system for the airline industry - a platform that connects all participants and integrates the information and complexity of hundreds of systems that go into delivering air travel.

In 2017, we launched with this mission and started on an unsolved problem: empower travel sites to upsell seat selection, baggage and other upgrades. Through a simple and unique API and widget, we’ve signed huge customers like Priceline, Hopper and Trip.com and work with industry leaders. About the role

You will lead the command center for Gordian’s newest product, Sprout Travel. We have leveraged our travel expertise to create a seamless experience for distributed businesses - like ourselves - where we use tech solutions to remove a huge amount of travel admin complexity for our customers. You’ll be in charge of owning the customer experience, managing our service, and making trips happen for companies that have decided to use Sprout. You will be the quarterback for the logistics, planning and operating challenges as we scale, and own the overall results of various service providers, contractors, tech features and your personal contributions.

You will be on the leading edge of complex problems and work closely with our product team to scale our offering to companies. You will be a lynchpin of our small dynamic team that’s focused on this product, including our CEO, with total exposure to building a new business. This is an evolving and fast paced environment and we’re looking for someone who can grow into a leadership position and scale with the business.

Recent examples of problems you might solve:

  • Design a to process to ensure all airline or hotel notifications are properly actioned and communicated to customers
  • Setting up local support in a new country to ensure a great experience for our travellers
  • Build a robust post-trip customer feedback and referral program
  • Manage trip logistics on-site for a high priority customer

You will personally lead large and impactful projects. We hold each other to high expectations and empower everyone to create massive impact from day 1.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of high impact business or operations experience
  • Curious with demonstrated ability to learn quickly and thrive in new environments
  • Comfort in rapidly changing, highly complex domains

Technology

Some interesting problems we're solving:

  • Tracking complex financial flows between travel companies and airlines for millions of dollars
  • Integrating 15-30 APIs in parallel using automated testing, good software design and processes
  • Anomaly detection across airline/travel website pairs. Many times we tell airlines they are down before they know
  • Data modeling to provide a simple, clean API format across 90 airlines' different product sets.
