We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) lead who will manage exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. You will work across two scrum teams to design and implement tests, debug and define corrective actions, review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts). This is an inidual contributor role.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead release management testing processes in support of our two primary lines of business – school and consumer

  • Evolve our test planning and test case management tooling
  • Partner with product leadership and engineering to gain a deep understanding of how our products function
  • Help create an automated quality surround for our products
  • Gain hands-on experience testing cutting edge technology such as Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality

Who you are:

  • You believe in the agile principle of working software over comprehensive documentation; you're comfortable writing test cases based on what you've learned via a design studio, conversation, or feedback in a sprint exit
  • You are comfortable spending a significant amount of time (>50%) on manual testing
  • You are comfortable working independently, and often with limited direction
  • You will take ownership over learning how the product works and how features should work by participating in design studios, proactively asking questions, and conducting exploratory testing
  • You are technical and have some hands-on experience coding
  • You are a persistent, relentless, and responsive tester who is comfortable jumping between tasks to optimize your team's velocity
  • You have a desire to be at a Silicon Valley start-up, with the commitment and hours that requires
