The Data & Analytics Engineer will work directly with the Head of Engineering to improve and scale data infrastructure at Skiptown, the all-in-one ecosystem for pets and their people, assisting with Skiptown's growth as we build 50+ locations in the next 5 years.
As our Data & Analytics Engineer you will…
- Define the data pipeline architecture and build/maintain the data analytics infrastructure for the organization across our 5 enterprise and client-facing applications
- Collaborate with business leaders to build the roadmap for internal data products that support all departments (with a focus on Operations and Marketing)
- Produce data pipelines that allow for high levels of customized communication with our large clientbase through internal products and external marketing tools
- Create usable data products (dashboards, visualization tools, etc.) to support KPI tracking and team access to data insights
- Provide clean, transformed, and highly accurate data to be piped into relevant systems
- Support the two-way integration of external software and tools with our internal data
- Act as a Q/A tester for any large product releases
The ideal Data & Analytics Engineer is someone who…
- Lives and breathes data, and gets excited about data warehousing, creating innovative data solutions, and maintaining data quality
- Is eager to architect a data analytics infrastructure from the ground up
- Is proficient in selecting and implementing systems to support data analysis and pipeline development
- Has the skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical people
- Has an entrepreneurial spirit - you're comfortable with solving unfamiliar problems
Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, warehousing technologies, ETL/ELT, and event tracking tools
- Experience building data pipelines from scratch and selecting the tools to support those pipelines
- Bonus: knowledge of dbt, BigQuery, Firebase, Google Analytics, and other similar platforms
- Startup experience preferred
