Engineering Support, Technical Writer

Maxar is seeking a support technician to join our Analytic Data Products team. You will be part of a team focused on developing cloud-native tools, processing pipelines, and APIs to support applied machine learning on Maxar’s high-resolution satellite imagery.

We are looking for an engineering support expert with experience and an interest in working at the nexus of data engineering, machine learning, geospatial technologies, and AWS cloud development. Our focus is on unlocking content and insights from our high-resolution satellite imagery, and doing so repeatably, reliably, and at scale over large and erse geographies and applied use-cases. This position offers an opportunity to help shape the tools and systems that enable these analytics.

This position is fully remote, working with a team distributed across North America.

What you will do day-to-day (with your team):

As part of a talented team of engineers and data scientists, you will provide documentation and developer experience support for our Analysis-Ready Data satellite imagery product and our Derivative Ordering pipeline development project. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the AE engineers and data scientists to develop the right content for the right audience, and to make sure the right people have access to the content.
  • Collaborating with other teams to document user-facing features that are part of the ARD product.
  • Assisting in evaluating our products and features to determine short term and long-term documentation and communication needs
  • Reviewing all error messaging, notifications, and UI pages, and writing and editing copy for these.
