About the role
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our early, growing team. It is a great opportunity to join a company building a product that can have a material impact on fighting climate change.
As an engineering team, we strive to design and build systems that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable. Some of the traits that we promote within the team are ownership, curiosity, transparency, and a strong writing culture. As an early team member, you will be expected to help shape our product direction and to strengthen our engineering culture.
You will have end-to-end ownership over our developer platforms and productivity, automation, monitoring, instrumentation, and incident management. Here are some of the challenges that you will be working on:
* Define strategies for managing our AWS accounts with respect to tagging, cost optimization, security of IAM roles and policies, and networking
* Collaborate with the engineering and data teams to define and implement best practices to drive high-availability, reliability and fast performance for core infrastructure* Create processes for teams and iniduals to access system resources* Collaborate with our engineering and data teams to build and maintain automated CI/CD workflows* Help create guidelines regarding how to respond to production incidents* Implement infrastructure as codeAbout you
* You have 7+ years of experience in roles that give you real-world experience with DevOps, automation, monitoring, and alerting.
* You have extensive experience building, maintaining and scaling infrastructure with cloud providers–AWS preferred.* You have experience implementing and maintaining infrastructure as code, using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation* You have experience implementing security best practices* You have extensive experience with containerization, and building and maintaining CI/CD workflows* You have strong knowledge in writing Bash/Python/YAML scripts* You’re a quick learner with keen attention to detail* You thrive in a fast-paced environmentBonus points if
* You have worked with AWS Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes, and/or Github Actions
* You have worked with MongoDB or other non-relational databases* You’re experienced with RESTful API standards* Experience in multi-region environments",
