About the role

As an Automation Tester at Viable Data, you will be creating Java based Automated UI testing on FE stories as allocated in Sprints, supporting the wider technical team acting as a quality assurance function.

You will be someone who can adapt quickly and easily to the flexible needs of our Central Government customers. You will join one of our high-performing consulting teams where you will play a pivotal role in designing & delivering exceptional digital products and services that directly contribute to the delivery of UK policy, economic growth and security.

This role is largely remote with occassional business essential travel. We are accepting contractor applications.

Requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Work with Product Owners to define and manage testing carried out by the business
  • You will write and maintain automated tests across the full-stack for use in CI & CD pipelines;
  • You will establish and advise on QA processes, educating the team on testing best practice;
  • You will assist with diagnosing bugs and writing new test cases to prevent regression once resolved; and
  • Where required, manually test core features prior to release.

Skills and experience needed

  • Minimum 3 years' experience designing and executing test cases
  • Experience in test automation frameworks and tools such as Cypress, Jest or Selenium
  • Experience in maintaining test environments
  • Comfortable with standard tools such as Postman & jMeter (or equivalent)
  • Experience with micro-services and containerisation such as Docker
  •  

Due to the nature of work, you must be willing to undergo and be capable of achieving SC security clearance
