As a Data Engineer you will:

  • Serve as an expert technologist in implementing ETL data pipelines, streaming data solutions, data lakes and data warehouses
  • Work on the architecture, design, implementation, and testing of advanced data solutions for Ness clients
  • Exhibit expertise in data modeling, data warehouses, data lakes, and building ETL data pipelines
  • Modernize our clients’ data platforms, transitioning to cloud-hosted solutions using AWS, Azure, GCP, and Snowflake

Requirements

  • Strong relational database skills including SQL, data modeling, and
  • Experience using ETL / ELT tools such as EMR, Fivetran, Informatica
  • Experience with data collection, data cleansing, and ETL processes
  • UNIX/Linux skills including shell scripts and basic system administration
  • Programming skills using modern programming languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Cloud experience strongly preferred using AWS (Redshift, RDS, EMR, Glue) or Azure (Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Programming languages including Java, Scala, C++, C#, JavaScript, R
  • Experience with software test automation
  • Data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, and/or Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Experience with AWS ML technologies such as SageMaker
  • Experience with big data analytics tools such as Spark or DataBricks
  • Experience with streaming data analytics, Kafka, and/or Kinesis Streams

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree is usually required, preferably in a STEM discipline.
  • AWS or Azure certifications desirable (Solution Architect, Machine Learning or Big Data specialty certification
  • Snowflake SnowPro certification desirable
