About The Role

As a QA Developer, you will be a key member of our development team. You would be the first QA hire, and therefore tasked with owning the testing strategy for the Combyne Ag platform. You would report directly to the product owner, and work closely with the other developers on the team.

Your primary task will be to create test cases for both the mobile and web versions of Combyne Ag, and continuously manually test the app in order to find any bugs before they are released in production. Your day-to-day will include manually testing the app and ensuring its quality and creating tests for the user stories currently being worked on. You will also be working closely with the product team to clearly understand the requirements for each user story in order to write the corresponding automated tests.

Your secondary focus will be to set up an automated testing suite for our front-end apps. Your goal over time will be to maximize the amount of testing done in an automated fashion, and minimize the need for manual testing by porting over old manual test cases into the automated suite.

We work in an Agile environment, and that means you are part of a culture that is flexible and adaptive to requirements. To support our objectives, we run Agile ceremonies, plan and scope our work as a group, and believe in a continuous deployment philosophy. Our work is about creating value for our end-users and you are a key part of bringing that experience to life.

About Our Company

Combyne Ag is an online crop marketing management tool built for farmers. We are a venture-backed ag-tech startup based in Ottawa and active across Canada and the US.

You will be helping our team work on cutting edge tools and infrastructure for sustainability in agriculture. We are actively working on creating links between on-farm practices and the supply chain so both farmers and product companies can understand how on-farm practices impact the carbon intensity of end products like food and biofuels. You will be involved with bringing these tools to life for farmers and end buyers in the food and biofuel supply chain.

About Our Team

We are a small and collaborative team working together to build a great software product. Our team combines a mix of product management, user research, UX/UI design, product marketing and software development expertise. We ask you to please respect current Combyne employees by not messaging or connecting with them on LinkedIn. We are happy to see such a high level of interest to Combyne positions, however the best way to make sure you are considered for this role is to simply apply and wait for the Combyne team to reach out to you.
