We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Intelligence to lead and expand our BI and analytics capabilities at Jane. This role will begin by evaluating, improving and optimizing our existing business systems and paving the way for a business intelligence strategy. The successful candidate will be a crucial part of our leadership team, collaborating with stakeholders across all departments to drive data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.Like with all positions at Jane, this position is a remote position, allowing you to work anywhere you want across Canada. Building a delighted team who can delight our customers is part of Jane’s DNA. In our most recent company-wide health check, 99% of our team agreed that our founders demonstrate people are important to Jane’s success. On top of that, 98% of our team felt Manager cares about them as human beings and that they are supported when needing to arrange time off from work. We’d never claim to be perfect, but we’re working hard to listen to our people and improve each day. We really want the people who work at Jane to love being here, so it's important that we start with a bit about what makes our company unique and try to be as transparent as possible. Our values also provide some insights into Jane and hopefully, you’ll have a better idea if this might be the kind of company you want to be part of. Before we were Jane, our Co-Founders were solving problems for their own clinics not realizing that a few years later, this team would grow to support tens of thousands of healthcare practices in more than 60 countries. Our platform is now helping to modernize the world of practice management software. We enable the likes of physiotherapists, mental health counsellors, chiropractors, and other allied health practitioners to run their practices in a digital-first way through features such as online booking, charting, scheduling, telehealth, and billing along with an evolving library of features. You can see more of them here. Although we’ve grown, still to this day, we’re rooted in solving clinics’ problems and making sure we don’t lose sight of Jane’s vision. We have remained profitable for the past seven years, we’re product-led and growing organically (and responsibly) to the point where 85% of our customer growth is either from customer referrals or word of mouth. Growth like this is unique, especially in the world of SaaS, and it doesn’t happen by chance. We have a brilliant team of over 400 Janers who are doing an amazing job of listening to our customers, building what they need, and providing industry-leading support. We pride ourselves on flexibility & autonomy, some of our team block out their calendars to pick up their children from school (and this is normal at Jane), and we even have a #kids channel in Slack. We’re not a clock-in clock-out system-type environment. With that being said, we’re not going to paint the picture of a perfect environment either. We’re a company that’s scaling quickly, we have many moving parts, many of us are doing this for the first time and sometimes, we don’t have processes in place or clear views which can require a lot of resourcefulness and a passion for problem-solving. With all that to say, if you’re looking for an environment where you can grow, stretch yourself, and work with some incredibly talented people on problems that are positively impacting people's lives, Jane could be the place for you.Compensation Expectations for the RoleJane’s committed to paying our team members fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $175,600 and a maximum annual salary of $285,400. As you may have noticed, this salary range is quite large, and this is intentional to account for the growth someone will experience in the role throughout their time at Jane (i.e., from building the skills, to accomplished, to highly proficient, all the way to achieving excellence in the role). When hiring talented folks to join the Jane team, we’ve found that new team members are best set up for success when hired with the expectation of being fully accomplished in the role, which for this role would reflect a salary between $208,600 to $219,500. Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack)
US-Based Remote
Engineering /
Full-Time
/ Remote
Health care is all about conversations, with over 2B spoken conversations each year between patients and their care teams in just the United States. However, people forget up to 80% of those conversations, leading to worse patient outcomes. And doctors are burning out writing notes in their EMRs instead of focusing on their patients. That’s where Abridge comes in our audio-based standalone and integrated solutions record and summarize medical conversations, anywhere care happens.
About the role:
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll play a key role in helping us scale and mature our business by building and supporting new + existing web applications and their supporting backends. You’ll be writing code (mostly Typescript), making architectural decisions, recommending technologies to adopt, and ensuring that our systems scale up reliably and securely.
What you’ll do:
-
- Scale up our business by designing, building, and supporting easy-to-use web applications, including both front-end features and the backend services and data models that power them.
- Make & implement technology decisions that support business needs without compromising security, privacy or quality
- Enhance existing systems to add new functionality, and to improve performance, stability, quality, and security
- Advocate for high standards; make quality-of-life improvements to the codebase; and help limit the growth of technical debt
- Build deep user empathy and maintain a user-centric mindset
- Communicate regularly and effectively within and on behalf of our cross-functional product delivery teams. You’ll work with other disciplines including design, product, machine learning, and infrastructure, and will have opportunities to learn from and contribute to projects across the company
What you’ll bring:
-
- 5+ years experience building, shipping and operating web applications at scale. You’ve seen what works, and probably a few things that didn’t work.
- Experience as a lead engineer on a major component or subsystem of a software platform, or as the lead for the platform itself
- Excitement about working in our tech stack, which is primarily NodeJS (Typescript) and React running on Google Cloud (GCP)
- Ability to act with autonomy & self-direction while working well in a team environment
- Willingness to pitch in wherever needed – as a fast-moving startup we need to do good work, quickly
$175,000 – $205,000 a year
Based on pay transparency guidelines, a reasonable expectation for the salary range is listed, which applies to California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, and Washington. The base salary range for other locations may vary. Actual base salary will be dependent on geographic location, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and/or other job-related factors. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may also be eligible to participate in a company stock option plan. Salary listed does not include total compensation, e.g. equity.
We value people who want to learn new things, and we know that great team members might not perfectly match a job description. If you’re interested in the role but aren’t sure whether or not you’re a good fit, we’d still like to hear from you.
Life at Abridge
At Abridge, we’re driven by our mission to bring understanding and follow-through to every medical conversation. Our culture is founded on doing things the inverse way in a legacy systemfocusing on patients, instead of the system; focusing on outcomes, instead of billing; and focusing on the end-user experience, instead of a hospital administrator’s mandate.
Abridgers are engineers, scientists, designers, and health policy experts from a erse set of backgroundsan experiment in alchemy that helps us transform an industry dominated by EHRs and enterprise into a consumer-driven experience, one recording at a time. We believe in strong ideas, loosely held, and place a high premium on a growth mindset. We push each other to grow and expose each other to the latest in our respective fields. Whether it’s holding a PhD-level deep e into understanding fairness and underlying bias in machine learning models, debating the merits of a Scandinavian design philosophy in our UI/UX, or writing responses for Medicare rules to influence U.S. health policy, we prioritize sharing our findings across the team and helping each other be successful.
Abridge is an equal opportunity employer. Diversity and inclusion is at the core of what we do. We actively welcome applicants from all backgrounds (including but not limited to race, gender, educational background, and sexual orientation).

Senior React/React Native Developer
at CompanyCam
Remote (U.S.)
Hi, we’re CompanyCam.
We create simple-to-use, visual-first communication and accountability tools for contractors. Imagine a B2B SaaS (business-to-business software-as-a-service) app that doesn’t look like garbage, built by a team of capable, laid-back people.
But don’t let the chill throw you off; we’re a fast-growing, product-led startup with big plans for the future.
The Role
We’re looking for a sharp, self-motivated, problem-solving Senior React/React Native Engineer to join our engineering team.
As a Senior React/React Native Engineer, you’ll work alongside other engineers, designers, and product managers to tackle everything from huge company initiatives to modest but important bug fixes, from start to finish. You’ll also collaborate with your product team on discovery, helping to assess the direction and feasibility of product changes.
Most importantly, you’ll actively contribute to the evolution of the culture and processes of a growing engineering team, especially our client engineering discipline (this is what we call the devs who work on the front end). We want devs with opinions on patterns, code organization, and processes to help make sure our codebases scale healthily, and an interest in mentoring to help make sure our devs do too.
Working at CompanyCam
Our engineering team is remote-first, spanning every time zone in the United States. We welcome people from all backgrounds and really don’t care whether or not you have a CS degree or even a high school diploma. All that matters is that you’re not an a**hole and you’re good at what you do.
Our Product and Engineering departments also do things a little differently than what you might be used to.
We use a customized version of Basecamp’s Shape Up method (fused with empowered product teams a la Marty Cagan’s Inspired) to organize and execute our work. That means you’ll work in a close-knit team consisting of a product manager, a product designer, and other engineers on an area of the product in multi-week cycles.
During cycles you’ll spend most of your time implementing product improvements, but you’ll also work with your team shaping (planning and vetting) product improvements for the next cycle. After each cycle your team will stop, reset, and choose to tackle another cycle or take a 1-2 week cool-down (a period of undirected work where you’ll pursue educational opportunities, work on pet projects, or smash some bugs that have been nagging at you). Rinse and repeat until code nirvana.
Sounds nice, right? No sprinting, no scrumming, no death by 1,000 meetings. We protect our engineers’ time, treat them like adults, and trust them to get their work done. We’re also big on not overworking people. Put in your eight hours of focused, quality work and then TURN. SLACK. OFF. No nights and weekends.
Our larger company culture is also refreshingly chill. We have fun, learn from each other, and don’t take ourselves too seriously.
We cover the important stuff too. We pay well, offer unlimited vacation, meaningful equity, health insurance, and other benefits. This is a salaried position at CompanyCam. The starting point of our salary band for mid-level engineers (3+ years of experience) is $130,000. The top of our salary band for new Senior Engineers is $170,000.
What We Ask of You
Must-haves
These are our non-negotiables:
- Show up: give us your best and have the courage to do difficult but necessary stuff.
- Grow up: take responsibility, learn continuously, and have a growth mindset.
- Do good: treat your co-workers and customers the way you want to be treated.
- Strong mobile experience with and knowledge of native iOS or Android development paired with React Native experience.
- 5 or more years of experience working as a professional developer. (Not all years of experience are created equal, so this one isn’t set in stone).
- Reside permanently and currently somewhere in the U.S. Alas, we’re not set up to hire outside of the U.S.
Nice-to-haves
Day to day, you’ll spend 90%+ of your time working in React and React Native, but, of course, that’s not all you’ll work with. While experience with the following technologies are not required (we’re cool with some on-the-job learning), you will see them with varying levels of frequency:
- GraphQL & REST (often)
- Apollo & Redux (often)
- Android Studio & Xcode (mainly to run the mobile app)
- Java & Objective-C (approaching rarely, but we do have some native modules)
- Ruby on Rails (just a touch)

(btw, here's a quick video that explains the position: https://youtu.be/s8aW66ZB8_o?feature=shared)👉 Are you a talented web developer who loves WordPress? And do you get excited about building new features that will be used by millions of pet lovers every month? Then this could very well be the opportunity for you!
We’re Pangolia—one of the fastest-growing pet companies, and we’re on a mission to create the biggest, most helpful pet company in the world. Our largest sites: Catster.com, Dogster.com, Hepper.com, and PetKeen.com are visited by more than 60 million pet lovers every year, and we’re undergoing rapid growth.
Our media sites are all built on WordPress, and our own cat furniture e-commerce brand, Hepper, is running on WooCommerce.
In this position you would be the lead web developer, which will consist of fixing the issues that come up, proactively keeping our sites secure, and building new things.
We’re a 100% remote company so you’d have the freedom to work from anywhere. It's a full-time position (40 hours a week), yet you get to plan your own schedule and work whenever you want. You will become an integral member of our team at Pangolia consisting of a erse group of more than 80 talented iniduals from all over the world, joining us on our united goal of building the biggest, most helpful pet company in the world.
📌 Note: we’re a fast-paced kickass team with very high expectations of ourselves and each other, and we work really hard. The webdev department needs to become kickass, so this position will definitely require working on some weekends.
💻 We’re looking for a fullstack developer. However, for this position, it is much more important to be great at backend coding than frontend design. Our sites already look great on the front end, but it’s mainly on the back end where a lot of work needs to be done. (we also have graphic designers on our team)
💬 Strong communication and team collaboration skills are a MUST. We're a remote company, so great communication is a fundamental part of making the company thrive.
—> All in all, this is a great opportunity if you’re an amazing developer looking to rapidly grow your skills whilst working alongside peers who are at the top of their field.
Big projects in front of us right now:
1. Make Catster.com, Dogster.com, PetKeen.com, and Hepper.com the fastest loading websites when compared to our competitors, and have fewer display ads than the competition.2. Build out the Hepper.com e-commerce experience: revamping checkout pages, category pages, product listings, and making sure that data analytics on Hepper is properly configured.3. Clearing the big backlog of tasks that has piled up over the last couple of months. We are behind, and we have lots to do, so it’s important that you hit the ground running!
4. In this role, you would over the next 3-4 months hire 1-2 developers in your department. So, it’s crucial that you’re excited about managing, inspiring, and doing code reviews with other developers too.
You will be responsible for
- Making the webdev department kickass: catching up with the backlog of tasks, and being an amazing communicator.
- After 3-4 hiring months: hiring 1-2 web developers who will work under you. It’s therefore important you are excited about hiring, managing, and doing code reviews with developers. We can help teach you the skills to hire and manage developers, though, you must be excited about this for this to work.
- Developing new tools and software that help millions of pet lovers every month (could for example be to develop a Puppy Weight Chart Tool / Calculator that helps pet owners predict how fast, and how big their dog will grow)
- Developing, testing, and maintaining new features and solutions for our WordPress sites for desktop and mobile browsers that are optimized for high traffic.
- Create, review, and update technical documentation such as contributing to our development processes, QA procedures, and technical planning
- Communicating and supporting our content and marketing departments with dev/IT requests, troubleshooting, fixing bugs
- Performing scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and security updates on our WordPress sites
- Always proactively being on top of things and securing and protecting our WordPress sites from hackers and malware, as well as eliminating risks
- Be informed of relevant new technology and best practices
You are expected to have:
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and PHP
- Experience with MySQL and managing databases
- Experience with WordPress development (e.g. themes, hooks, filters, plugin API, etc)
- Experience with build tools like Webpack or ViteJS
- Experience with Composer and a basic understanding of autoloading, dependency management, and dependency injection
- Experience with SSH and comfortable with basic terminal usage
- Experience with Git (and GitHub)
- Troubleshooting abilities (ie include finding CSS and JavaScript conflicts using browser developer tools, navigating codebases in theme and plugins, and determining whether a plugin or theme code could be causing a code conflict)
- The ability to take a project on your own and get it done before the deadline
- Strong communication skills. This is a MUST as we work remotely. (most of our communication is written in Slack with occasional calls)
The Type of Person We Would Love For This Role
—> You are a dependable, friendly communicator
—> You’re passionate about solving problems with smart and elegant programming solutions. Your code is clean, understandable, and well-commented
—> You’re a self-starter who loves taking initiative and seeing things through to completion.
—> You have the curiosity and desire to learn and grow your skills and discover new modern practices and follow the latest trends in WordPress
—> You’re able to juggle around and work on different projects and side tasks on a weekly basis. While we wish we could focus on one thing for weeks at a time to make it perfect, that’s often not the reality in a competitive market.
Benefits/Perks when working at Pangolia
🌏 Work from anywhere (we’re 100% remote)
💡 Work with a hard-working, talented team of kickass people
🕑 Flexible work hours, you get to plan your own schedule and work whenever you want
🌴 Company retreats! (we just did a company retreat in Phuket, Thailand!)
💰 Your payment is paid biweekly (You’re paid every two weeks)
💻 We encourage you to find a working environment that suits your needs the best if working from home every single day isn’t for you. (We’ll cover monthly membership and/or day passes for co-working spaces.)⛱️ 21 days of paid time off every year
🤝 Your work with a great, talented team that produces a high-growth work environment (we move fast)
📈 Opportunity to move up in the company, and earn higher pay and bonuses
Some things to know about our workflow
- Every Monday, we have a one-on-one Zoom meeting to discuss our goals, whether you are meeting your goals, what went well, what did not go well, and so on.
- You would work directly with the CEO, Simon, who trusts you with your responsibility areas and empowers you to come up with and for you to find the solutions. In other words: this role has a lot of freedom for you to work in the way that you think is best for the company. Simon and the team do not micromanage and have no interest in doing so.
- You’re also responsible for maintaining the Github repository of the project you’re working on, committing/pushing/documenting your changes, commenting on your code, and writing SOPs or technical documentation (if necessary). It doesn’t have to be pages long and can be very short and concise. But, as a developer, it makes life so much easier if you can return to your code in the future without having to think too hard about what you did. This is also about being considerate of your teammates' time.
- There must be some overlap in our working hours so you can respond to urgent requests (if any) or chat with your manager or any of our departments on demand if they have an IT question. This means that some extra tasks may arise during the week.
- You might have a day where one of our team members needs something urgent and needs it done the same or the next day, which can be valuable to the company, or a major issue needs to be fixed ASAP, in which case you might have to drop what you're working on and work on that. If your main project's deadline cannot be met because of this (which is understandable), you should be able to communicate this on time.
- However, most of the time you are able to work on your main projects in solitary. We understand that developers need complete focus. You can also chat and ask questions in our Slack channels.
The team (and our work culture)
You’ll get to be part of a 100% remote company consisting of a erse group of 80 talented iniduals from all over the world. The people you will find on the team are veterinarians, marketers, content writers, editors, social media managers, graphics designers, content managers, and a lot more.
And you’ll get to join us on our united mission of improving the lives of pets and those who care for them. We dream big, and our mission is to become the biggest, most helpful pet company in the world.
You’ll get to be part of a company that’s undergoing hyper-growth, and the fast-paced work environment that comes with it.
And we’ve managed to grow at a healthy pace without ever sacrificing our culture and values.
Our company culture is focused on work and collaboration, but also being open to the casual humor and chatter that makes us get to know each other.
We value the freedom of being able to work from anywhere, trust, and collaboration.

Our media sites are all built on WordPress, and our own cat furniture e-commerce brand, Hepper, is running on WooCommerce.
In this position you would be the lead web developer, which will consist of fixing the issues that come up, proactively keeping our sites secure, and building new things.

1. Make Catster.com, Dogster.com, PetKeen.com, and Hepper.com the fastest loading websites when compared to our competitors, and have fewer display ads than the competition.
2. Build out the Hepper.com e-commerce experience: revamping checkout pages, category pages, product listings, and making sure that data analytics on Hepper is properly configured.3. Clearing the big backlog of tasks that has piled up over the last couple of months. We are behind, and we have lots to do, so it’s important that you hit the ground running!4. In this role, you would over the next 3-4 months hire 1-2 developers in your department. So, it’s crucial that you’re excited about managing, inspiring, and doing code reviews with other developers too.
You will be responsible for- Making the webdev department kickass: catching up with the backlog of tasks, and being an amazing communicator.
- After 3-4 hiring months: hiring 1-2 web developers who will work under you. It’s therefore important you are excited about hiring, managing, and doing code reviews with developers. We can help teach you the skills to hire and manage developers, though, you must be excited about this for this to work.
- Developing new tools and software that help millions of pet lovers every month (could for example be to develop a Puppy Weight Chart Tool / Calculator that helps pet owners predict how fast, and how big their dog will grow)- Developing, testing, and maintaining new features and solutions for our WordPress sites for desktop and mobile browsers that are optimized for high traffic.
- Create, review, and update technical documentation such as contributing to our development processes, QA procedures, and technical planning- Communicating and supporting our content and marketing departments with dev/IT requests, troubleshooting, fixing bugs
- Performing scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and security updates on our WordPress sites- Always proactively being on top of things and securing and protecting our WordPress sites from hackers and malware, as well as eliminating risks
- Be informed of relevant new technology and best practicesYou are expected to have:
**The Type of Person We Would Love For This Role
**—> You are a dependable, friendly communicator
(We’ll cover monthly membership and/or day passes for co-working spaces.)
⛱️ 21 days of paid time off every year🤝 Your work with a great, talented team that produces a high-growth work environment (we move fast)
