About the Role

About the Position

- Act as the lead paralegal in high-impact legal cases, advocacy, and related campaigns.

The Legal Director is responsible for internal legal counsel work and leading on enterprise risk management in a dynamic, collaborative, global, mission-based organization. The position resides within the Finance & Administration team and reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Essential Tasks
Provide Legal Advice and Representation
Provide strategic legal advice and consultation on compliance, governance, employment, intellectual property, and other legal matters.

- Based in Colorado: $99360 – $124200.

Job Summary
The Senior Paralegal supports the legal work of the attorneys in the Legal Department. Expert in the specific areas of law and regulation applicable to a given legal discipline, the Senior Paralegal is able independently perform and manage matter intake and administration through resolution, legal research, reviewing and identifying issues in legal matters, resolving questions submitted from business units, interpreting and implementing applicable policies and procedures, and working closely and directly with various business units in bringing matters to resolution.
Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct initial legal research and provide a summary of the results and/or drafting a preliminary response to the question being researched.
- Engaged in administration of legal matters based on current work assigned to the paralegal.
- Interface directly with business units or third parties – such as participating with attorney in meetings on substantive matters, fielding telephone calls and emails directly from business unit contacts or third parties.
- Perform miscellaneous activities, ad hoc projects, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, maintaining and enhancing subject matter expertise, and compliance and other training.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent.
- Five to ten years’ experience as a paralegal in a law firm or in a corporate setting with solid experience with banking, mortgage banking, real estate, litigation or related legal discipline based on area of specialty.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program is preferred.
