Position Summary
Cold Iron Studios is looking for a QA Engineer to join our world class team on our next AAA title for consoles and PC! This position is fully remote in the United States and open to applicants across the country.

Your Day to Day
You can expect to be responsible and accountable for the following:
- Design, develop and integrate frameworks to optimize game engineering and infrastructure solutions
- Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality. Make recommendations for optimization
- Identify, analyze, and apply various technical skills to troubleshoot areas of deficiencies
- Provide consistent communication on QA releases and updates
- Partner with stakeholders through all cycles of development to maximize effective test plans
- Analyze product quality and usability, associated system limitations, and report on risk
- Host test closure activities, e.g., test ware evaluation, knowledge transfer, retrospectives
- Ensure that teams are following documented test processes and to enforce best practices
- Champion best practices, drive innovation, and contribute to architectural discussions

Requirements
- 5+ years of software or games experience testing games on at least XBOX, Playstation, or PC platforms
- Experience with test-driven development
- Experience and understanding of distributed cloud systems, containerization, cross-platform networking, caching, application modernization, data storage (document stores, key-value stores, RDBMS), data streaming, and CI/CD
- Experience with Unreal Engine
- Proficiency in software engineering tools
- Demonstrated experience in test planning for complex features/systems
- Ability to document requirements and specifications
- Strong understanding of game/software development cycles
- Strong problem solving, communication, and prioritization skills
Would love to see
- Ability to develop software in C++ or other programming languages
- Experience with integrations APIs and external systems
- Experience in test automation and tools
- Knowledge of versioning systems like GitHub, Perforce, etc.
- Passion for games and the gaming industry
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related degree
- Or equivalent industry experience
