We are looking for a QA Developer to work alongside our development team in executing software quality assurance plans and processes. We’re seeking iniduals who are passionate about the FinTech space and who have a strong desire to make an impact on breakthrough technology with their keen eye for detail. Your main responsibilities will be testing sprint and feature deployments along with maintaining and adding to our existing test plans. In this newly created role, the QA Developer will directly report to the QA Lead, and partner with the development, product, customer success, and sales team.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain existing test plans as well as help with the creation of new ones
  • Will work on expanding our automation testing efforts with our test automation team
  • Investigate bugs and feedback reported by stakeholders to establish validity, root causes and commonalities between issues
  • Follow the overall QA process improvements to ensure consistency and standardization across products
  • Once comfortable with the product you will focus on converting manual tests into automated tests where possible
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Identify opportunities for improving QA processes in place and suggest solutions

Who you are and what you bring

  • Bachelors degree in Software Development or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance or related field
  • Experience with test management software like TestRail
  • Experience with automation tools such as cypress or selenium
  • Good understanding of frontend programming languages like Javascript (typescript experience is a bonus)
  • Facilitates discussions and follows a structured approach to plan, elicit, analyze, document, communicate and manage requirements with stakeholders as needed
  • Demonstrates writing and documentation skills
  • Able to work independently and regularly handles non-routine situations
  • Experience and knowledge in the wealth and finance industries is a bonus
  • Bold, gritty and curious character

  • Remote first. We trust our teammates to find the work location that allows them to do their best work – remotely or in person. We’re a Canadian based, remote-first environment, with in-office collaboration zones and inidual workspaces in Gatineau, QC or Halifax, NS and hubs of virtual employees in Southwestern Ontario (and a few others scattered across Canada). We do find value in our teammates being able to connect, collaborate, learn from and mentor one another, so we may request you to travel to a central location for periodic team meetings.
