Job Summary:As a QA Engineer, you will utilize manual and automated testing to maintain quality for Movista's software products. In addition to testing, the QA Engineer will use their effective writing and communication skills to author clearly understood test cases, and facilitate in the automation of the regression test repositories. This role will be positioned to learn; The accepted applicant should expect to acquire the knowledge and skillset necessary to perform automation and advanced quality analysis techniques.
Essential Functions:- Acceptance testing of code changes; collaborating with developers if there are defects
- Regression testing of software releases
- Articulate pre-established testing concerns into test cases
- Write code (guided by prior examples) to automate test cases
- Document bugs as they are discovered, and the testing activities involved
- Interact with SQL databases to validate product behavior
- Using Git version control and Github for managing code changes
- Routinely coordinate with senior QA personnel for work being done and opportunities to grow
Going Above & Beyond in this role:
- Effectively troubleshoot flaky automated tests and test suite executions on your own
- Under direction, write code in the automation framework that supports new functionality
- Comfortable and confident in correctly implementing API, Web & Mobile Test Automation
- Discover & author new testing concerns and patterns
- Gather technical requirements and convert them into testing concerns
Required Skills and Abilities to be eligible for starting in this role:
- Capability & inclination to communicate, with various audiences & roles
- Problem solving mindset, and the drive to stick with more complex environments
- Desire to learn needed technical skills –the command line, SSH, Git, Networking, etc.
Education and Experience to be eligible for starting in this role:
- Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent degree or
- 1+ years experience in a role that presented you with technical challenges daily. Examples: Technical Support, Software Quality Assurance, or Systems/Network Administration
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
