Job Description
As a tutor with us, you’ll have a range of responsibilities:
- Engage in chat-based live tutoring, managing multiple students simultaneously in your area of expertise. Must be comfortable working with and adapting to rapidly changing technology.
- Utilize the voice notes feature to communicate with students through asynchronous audio messages, which benefits younger students and those with assistive technology needs.
- Review written assignments, providing asynchronous guidance and feedback.
- Encourage critical thinking while respecting erse perspectives and being aware of your own biases.
- Conduct pedagogical assessments and provide valuable feedback to teachers, students, and other tutors.
- Create an engaging learning environment that boosts student confidence and fosters a genuine interest in learning.
- Contribute your knowledge and support to your peers in various channels, making a positive impact on the entire tutor team.
- Run multiple inidual tutoring sessions covering various grades, ability levels, and subjects.
- Embrace a self-directed approach to learning and development, with ongoing support from your manager.
- Complete assigned tasks promptly and efficiently.
- Feel comfortable uploading a headshot for your tutoring profile, building connection and trust with students.
To succeed in this role, we’re looking for candidates who possess:
- Full professional or native bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (language testing will be completed in the recruitment process)
- Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting during the onboarding process – mandatory
- At least 1 year of experience as a tutor or teacher, demonstrating your expertise in the subject matter
- Experience working with children, showcasing your ability to connect with and support young learners
- An undergraduate degree (or in the process of completion) in a relevant field, indicating your educational background
- A genuine passion for learning and teaching, inspiring students to reach their full potential.
- Adaptability to erse inidual needs and learning styles, allowing you to provide personalized support
- Comfort working at a computer for extended periods, ensuring seamless tutoring sessions
- Comfort with a flexible schedule that may vary week-to-week based on student demand
- Ability to adjust to the ever-changing environment of education
- Willingness to be coached in aspects of tutoring by peers within the company
- Desire to grow as an educator within Paper

Scheduling:
We understand that student demand fluctuates throughout the school year. To accommodate this, we ask you to submit your availability on a weekly basis. Part-time tutors can expect to receive between 4 and 30 hours of tutoring shifts per week based on demand, as well as your tutoring topics and languages.
Compensation:
We value your expertise and dedication, which is why we offer competitive compensation. Starting at $17.50/hour, wages are paid biweekly via direct deposit in your national currency.
