Glencoco Founding Product Designer Job Description

We are looking for an A+ Product Designer to join our team.

The ideal candidate is a senior level designer skilled at each stage of the design process and well versed with atomic design systems or a similar framework.

Glencoco’s mission is to connect enterprises and people to create billions of opportunities.

We’re a team of MIT/former FB engineers with experience at large enterprise companies like Verkada and Wiz  is building an Uber/Doordash-like app for B2B Sales and creating a two-sided managed marketplace.

Opportunity

Design is at the center of everything we do because of how unusual the platform is. It must be as delightful to use for inidual users as it is to use Instagram or the Uber Driver App, while for businesses, we want to take existing Salestech/CRM design patterns, which are typically ugly and boring, and challenge the status quo. Our current platform reflects this, but for the next stage of our growth, we want to include additional features and add gamification elements to our platform that require high creative intuition as well as an understanding of user and business customer psychology. Because of how unusual the platform is - yet, existing design patterns are abundant, this will be an incredible breeding ground to conceptualize design patterns that push the boundaries of UX, UI, and visual delight.

We’re also very early stage, so you'll have an outsized equity stake and an unparalleled opportunity to shape the product direction. Designers and engineers at Glencoco decide what gets built and why, in addition to figuring out how. You'll get to design large product surface areas, not just features, and be responsible for making key product decisions across the platform.

You'll also get to join the company just as we're taking off, with ample resources to set us up for success. Our company is backed by top-tier VCs, including Felicis Ventures, Crossbeam.vc, BOND Capital, and L2 Ventures as well as incredible angels, including the former Head of Brand Design at Stripe and the former VP of Product at Roblox. Our team backgrounds include Facebook, Verkada, Wiz, MIT, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, and Waterloo. The founders have both worked at multiple startups that exited and/or achieved a multi-billion+ valuation. The CEO was the former Head of Growth at Wiz, the fastest growing company in human history, reaching $100M ARR in 18 months.

Right now, we're Williamsburg, NY based, with 3 days a week in the office and 2 days working from home.

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a flexible, collaborative UX designer to help bring this vision to life. Experience in UI, IxD, and Product is a huge plus. You’re likely a good fit if you’ve got strong product chops, are detail-oriented, and ship high-quality designs efficiently. You can elegantly break down features into seamless workflows, while constantly thinking about how to delight users. You think big but know how to start small and scope ideas down to MVPs. You know how to design robust systems and are also comfortable breaking a few rules. You generate clever solutions when faced with constraints and put ego aside when making decisions. You love collaborating with product-minded engineers and work well in ambiguous environments.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• A portfolio of best-in-class work reflecting high level craftsmanship and compelling design.

• You have proven experience of 4+ years in the industry

• You are a creative team leader with the ability to cultivate an enriching environment, and shared understanding of the user-centered approach between design, content, product and engineering.

• Vast experience with prototyping on multiple platforms

• Keen attention to detail

• Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, iteration design, and usability testing

• Strong communication skills: Effectively communicating ideas to stakeholders/clients

Creative problem solving skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leading team in all phases of the ideation and design process - from concept to delivery

You will help build effective design methodology and systems

Identify new product improvement opportunities as well as how to better satisfy market/consumer needs.

Communicate and present product design ideas to cross functional teams and senior leadership
