Title: Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Position Summary

The Evaluation Systems group of Pearson offers dynamic teacher licensing and performance assessment solutions. We work with multiple partners to develop and maintain highly scalable Web applications that share information between Pearson groups, customers, and clients. We have a collaborative environment and are passionate about education.

As a Software Automation / Quality Assurance Engineer you will develop and execute automation tests as well as perform manual testing to ensure that the software meets the specified requirements and is of a high quality. You will utilize existing and evolving company processes and practices to build and enhance the customer experience. As a Software Automation / Quality Assurance Engineer you will play an integral role on an Agile Scrum team. The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with both the Scrum team and other Pearson teams are required skills for this role.

This position will be a hybrid or remote position depending on the candidate’s location. Local candidates will work remotely with in-office activities required, as needed, in Pearson’s Hadley, MA office. If you are outside of commuting distance, this position would be full-time remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain efficient and reliable automation scripts and test suites
  • Perform automated and manual testing to assess the functionality, reliability, performance, and quality of the service or product
  • Create, edit, and clarify test plans & test cases
  • Review software requirements and designs
  • Lead and/ or collaborate with others in test automation projects
  • Collaborate and communicate with the software developers, software quality assurance analysts, and technical support specialists on product issues
  • Communicate the status of testing and quality deliverables to team leadership
  • Document test procedures as needed.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business and/or equivalent education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance testing and automation
  • Experience writing automation code in C#
