About the Role
As the Design Lead at Sydecar, you will play a pivotal role in building out and leading our design team. You will be responsible for creating and executing the overall design direction of the company. Sydecar customers are investors, fund managers, and founders - people who care about design, speed, and user experience. This role is hands-on, and the ideal candidate must be comfortable with execution.
You will work closely with engineers, PMs, and our customer experience team, ensuring high-quality implementation and contributing to hiring and establishing a design culture within the company.
Only candidates with clean and minimalist design, fintech, and startup/early seed company experience will be considered. Remote position, however ideal candidate would be based in Houston, Texas or San Francisco bay area. Must be based in the United States.
What You’ll Do
As Design Lead you will:
Lead the overall product and design direction of the company.
Create outstanding, user-centered designs incorporating business requirements, product findings, and customer feedback.
Create flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals for all product features.
Work closely with engineers and other partners to ensure high-quality implementation.
Work with engineers, product managers, and our young design team to improve existing as well as create new components and styles across Sydecar products.
Focus on design experiences that help customers meet their goals, are empathetic and easy to use, improve customer satisfaction, and drive deeper product adoption.
Hire and manage the design team, supporting them as a people manager, strategic lead, and primary source of design feedback.
Guide your team in product and research strategy, product alignment, design reviews, and the execution of design tasks.
Set priorities for the team and methods and procedures on new assignments to ensure task completion.
Uphold a high bar of creativity, product quality, and attention to detail while moving at the speed required at a growth-stage startup.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design/HCI or equivalent experience and 10+ years of experience in product design or UX design.
An expert in designing interactive applications with excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills.
A seasoned design professional with several years of experience leading and managing high-caliber design teams.
A solution-oriented leader who is passionate about design and can think through complex interaction designs.
Strong in strategic thinking and communication, able to lead and influence teams.
Ability to make thoughtful, data-driven decisions and execute them with high velocity.
Someone who enjoys working in a small, close-knit team and is comfortable with hands-on execution.
