Lead Product Designer- Platform

REMOTE

Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Carry1st is the leading publisher of social games and interactive content in Africa. We work with studios across the globe – from Addis Ababa to Sofia to New York City – to level up their games and scale in dynamic, frontier markets. In addition to our full-stack publishing service, we’ve built a proprietary payments and ecommerce platform which allows customers to pay for digital content, even when they don’t have a credit card.

As our Lead Product Designer – Platform, you will be responsible for defining the design system, leading a team that designs intuitive UX and attractive interfaces and defining the design culture for the Carry1st Platform. The Platform includes our gamer-centric digital commerce, the Carry1st Shop, and our publisher partner-facing payments ecosystem, Pay1st. You will be a key influencer in the Platform Vision & Strategy working closely with the VP of Product – Platform and the Platform Product Leads. You will also partner with Product Leads and engineers to craft and iterate innovative features that will reach millions of users daily, employing user-centered design practices to deliver a rage of world-class, interactive mobile experiences. This is a unique opportunity to set the vision and art-style for our platform, combining classic functional utility with dynamic, fun, game-like interfaces.

You will…

  • Collaborate with the Pay1st Product Team to design user experience for our game publisher partnerships which include a range of AAA to indie mobile games
  • Collaborate with the Shop Team to design the mobile and web shop experience for our customers but also future B2C propositions for African gamers
  • Conduct product research and apply it to user experience design
  • Mock up low fidelity wireframes and clickable prototypes
  • Produce high-fidelity static designs and animated content for mobile and desktop interfaces
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are being implemented with excellence
