Transactional Paralegal

at Bezos Academy

Remote

As the Transactional Paralegal for Bezos Academy, you will support our growing Legal Team in maintaining, developing, and improving sustainable and efficient business processes, with a focus on real estate, construction, and other transactional work. You will play a critical role in securing physical space for our tuition-free, high quality, Montessori-inspired preschools to open and operate in under-resourced communities around the country.

You will handle short and long-term projects related to real estate, commercial contracts, and construction. Your work will include drafting and managing due diligence checklists, and assisting in administration of policies, insurance, and government filings such as state and local business registrations and renewals. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and drive automation, innovation, collaboration, and the effective use of systems. You will ensure that all contracts and other legal requests will be handled promptly and efficiently.

You are diligent, resourceful, organized, and comfortable working in a startup environment where projects move quickly, and new challenges arise regularly. You bring experience with traditional transactional paralegal work, including real estate. You are excited to develop skills in areas of the law and legal operations with which you may not have prior experience. Above all, you are a life-long learner ready to expand your horizons and impact by supporting a growing nonprofit as it scales to hundreds of schools nationwide.
