Seeq is searching for a ‘superstar’ Analytics Engineer – Lead Instructor to play a critical role in the growth of the company as it serves process industries.

Our customers are within industrial process segments that collect and use large amounts of sensor data like oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, chemical, energy, power, food processing, etc. Ultimately, the goal is to help our customers increase sustainability and production, drive down costs, etc. in energy, food, medicines, and other consumable products to make the world a better place. The Analytics Engineer - Lead Instructor will be an expert in delivering, helping to scale, and continuing the development of our innovative hands-on data analytics training, which helps process engineers, operators, data scientists, and managers learn how to use data to make better business decisions (improving sustainability, reliability, productivity, safety, etc.). Enabling our customers to use Seeq to its fullest (through learning) is critical to their success and ours, and candidates are expected to continuously learn, grow, and contribute across several departments within the company. The Analytics Engineer - Lead Instructor should have a strong technical background in relevant engineering and/or scientific fields, with strong interest and skill in teaching and/or mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a go-to to deliver outstanding Foundations, Advanced, Data Lab, and Instructor Training courses.
  • Update evaluations/exams for Seeq Certifications.
  • Coordinate internal knowledge transfer on new tools and training materials, and also soft skills & technical communication.
  • May contribute to Use Case development (how to apply Seeq to solve a given problem, etc.); possibly in verticals in which we have less internal expertise.
  • Record live and guided exercises for each new release
  • Partner with Technical Content Creator to pilot materials and gather feedback
  • Mentor & evaluate partners and others through certifications and continuing education, including Seeq Analytics Engineer & Instructor Certifications.
  • Oversee learning delivery in key customer launches.

Qualifications

Seeq prefers to emphasize talent, capacity to contribute, and passion, but the ideal candidate is likely to have many of the following characteristics:

  • Extensive previous experience working as an engineer involved with analyzing time-history and process data in one of the industrial segments important to Seeq, with good first-principles understanding and background in statistics.
  • Ability to build a deep understanding of Seeq application capabilities and extensibility options, calculation nuances, etc.
  • Excellent technical communicator: can clearly and simply articulate complex concepts (such as data science algorithms), nuanced and precise use of words, awareness or ability to build awareness of cultural differences in learning styles.
  • You instinctively help people relate ideas, concepts, and knowledge to how they can use or apply them. You revel in enabling ‘aha’/epiphany moments for people.
  • Ability to mentor and train our partners to deliver the same sophisticated, engaged training we do (train-the-trainer).
  • Demonstrated skill & interest in engaged andragogy.
  • Masterful classroom management and ability to adjust approach and content to meet learner needs.
  • Self-starter: you are comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment developing approaches and workflows to meet goals. You are ok with ambiguity and working with the team to explore nuances, benefits, and limitations of different approaches.
  • You are comfortable leading and facilitating discussions on wide-ranging topics (i.e., how to use analytics to make better business decisions), and can confidently speak with everyone from engineers to C-suite executives.
  • You are regarded by your colleagues as one that ‘adds energy’ to everyone and every project you touch.
  • Motivated to understand Seeq’s needs and goals (beyond just those of the learning department) and think creatively about how training can best serve those goals.
  • Experience working and being successful in a virtual team environment.
  • We cannot accommodate any applicants that require visa sponsorship. You must already have permanent work authorization for the country in which you reside.

We are organized as a virtual company with a headquarters in Seattle, WA.  We use state-of-the-art online collaboration tools for development and corporate functions.  Employees can be based virtually anywhere as long as they have access to a good office environment and high-bandwidth connectivity.

The best applicants are ones who include cover letters explaining how their backgrounds, experiences, and interests match Seeq's position description. Please let us know how you will contribute to our mission and our future success.
