What We're Looking For

We’re looking for people that can own a large set of problems and are motivated by the question, “How can I improve this?” Over 80% of our current team is a former founder and they love working at Roboflow because they get to work autonomously and build solutions from the ground up (but you don't have to be a former founder to thrive at Roboflow!). Roboflow is still in its early stage and each department runs a startup within itself that defines a problem, works with our customers, builds ideal solutions, and adapts quickly to changes.

What You'll Do

This role is truly dynamic and versatile. You’ll be on the Design team within our company and working closely with our cross-functional Marketing team. You will collaborate across the company to create a variety of high priority and high traffic web properties like our core website, programmatic pages, github repos, open source projects, Roboflow Universe, graphics, copy, and other web-based products we build for users. Additional responsibilities include collateral, emails, employer branding, and other visual design projects that are needed a few times a month.Even though your primary work will be focused outside of the product at first, you will also have the opportunity to learn deeply about our product and contribute to our design system and direction. You’ll help us craft our brand identity and figure out how to best communicate and adjust it as necessary. We also believe in championing our superpowers and leaning into how we can grow and excel with them. We’d love to have a designer interested in flexing and growing their product design and user experience skills as well, especially in the context of crafting design components, improving our usability and aesthetic, and contributing to product initiatives to eventually lead your own.

As an early hire both from a company and design organization perspective, you’ll have an immense impact on the product and the direction of Design and Marketing at Roboflow.

📅 Within one month, you will…

* Spend the first week onboarding in person with your manager (you'll come to our NY or SF Hub!)

* Start building a trusting relationship with your peers, and learning the company structure, mission, and values.* Learn the technologies, tools, and frameworks you’ll be using* Review and familiarize yourself with ongoing and upcoming projects and priorities* Ship a substantial new feature to an end user within your first week* Gain an understanding of our web properties, content, and strategy* Build your first Roboflow computer vision product (if you haven't already)* Make quick ships to answer company asks and needs or address identified pain points

📅 Within three months, you will…

* Make steady progress on implementing and refactoring our core website

* Progressively handle more complex assignments and projects.* Identify and address gaps or points of confusion.* Create and enhance our marketing collateral and weave in new potential ideas.* Contribute to the development and documentation of our design system, visual identity, and consistency.* Analyze and utilize website performance metrics to identify areas of improvement and potential strategies.* Collaborate with the product team to provide input on user interface considerations and design patterns.

📅 Within six months, you will…

* Attend your first all company onsite.

* Thoroughly understand Roboflow’s product offering, our goals, and where we need to improve.* Contribute to the product in ways that feel natural and high leverage.* Use analytics and feedback to continue to iterate on designs and continuously improve on our visual identity, performance, and user satisfaction.* Participate and lead cross-functional design reviews.* Expand into areas where you want to grow specifically within marketing and product design.* Grow our brand identity and capabilities both within marketing and product to break new ground, emphasizing consistency and storytelling.

Who You Are

You are a web designer and developer with a penchant for user experience who wants to be part of an exceptional team, with a focus on using Roboflow's computer vision tools to impact and improve every industry.

* Highly skilled in tools like Figma and the Adobe Suite.

* Fluent in HTML and CSS with experience with Javascript and Python* Skills with Node.js, Tailwind, React, and Webflow are big differentiators.* Excellent brainstorming skills and possesses a blend of ergent and convergent thinking.* Possess a genuine interest and enthusiasm to learn the evolving concepts of computer vision, machine learning, and developer tooling, and the future ahead.* Strong understanding of web development best practices, common design patterns, responsive design, and general coding standards. Experience with accessibility standards are a plus.* A storyteller who champions visual design and polish to improve user’s experience, understanding, and first impression of the company.* Someone who wants to gain experience and grow their product designer skills and contribute to the Design team’s visual identity and overall brand.* Skilled communicator and collaborator that wants to eventually lead projects across both Marketing and Product teams.* Someone who wants to blur the boundaries of their role, work across different types of design and initiatives to fully develop their skill sets.* Any sort of interest or experience with motion graphics or interactive visual content will stand out.

Who You'll Be Working With

We are currently a team of 30 team members located all over the US and Europe. Our team’s backgrounds range from high school whiz kids that organized a student club, former founders of technology companies and fashion lines, CMOs to CEOs, and have experience scaling businesses to millions in revenue. We want to work with exceptional people with a erse background. At this early stage, you'll have the ability to work cross-functionally with many members of the team and solve a wide array of problems.

You will directly be working with our Design Lead and a mix of our Marketing Lead, Growth Marketers and Engineers, and Software Engineers .

Where You'll Work

Roboflow is distributed across the US and Europe. We currently have Hubs in New York City, San Francisco, Des Moines, and are open to opening more as we grow in different cities. We provide opportunities (like team onsites in different cities) and resources (like a travel stipend) to work in person with other team members as much as you'd like, while also supporting remote team members. You can work from one of our Hubs, from home, at local co-working spaces, etc. We want you to work where you work best!

When You'll Work

Given that we are a remote company and can hire almost anywhere in the world, we don’t have a particular time-zone preference for this role. However, you may need to be available for non-recurring urgent meetings outside of working hours. We have a flexible schedule that allows you to work collaboratively with other team members and asynchronously when needed. Note: Customer facing roles will skew towards our customer base US time zones.

Early, Progressing, Career are ideal for this role, but all are welcome to apply regardless.

What You'll Receive

To determine your salary, we use a number of market and data-driven salary sources. We review all salaries every 6 months to ensure we stay in line with the market.

💰 The target compensation for this role is $100,000 base.
