The Company   Fuzzy is a health and wellness pet company building for the pet parent. We’re changing the way pet parents think about caring for their pets, looking to empower the pet parent by putting caring for our pets on autopilot. Of the 200 million dogs and cats in the US, more than 100 million receive no veterinary care.  Through technology we’re creating a different type of relationship between vets and pet parents - one that is personal, empowering, and for the long haul.   The Role   The Fuzzy Data Science team partners with people across the company to drive the business forward with data. We’re looking for help understanding our data, making predictions to improve our product and customer experience, and optimizing our processes. We collect data from a wide variety of sources, and our ideal candidate for this role will be someone with experience building successful models while being data-driven, curious, and a clear communicator. 

< class="h3">Responsibilities:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our data and interpret them as they relate to pet parent behavior, pet medical records, care delivery outcomes, and product development.
  • Build predictive models and optimization routines, with applications ranging from text recognition and classification, care recommendations, churn prediction, and optimizing internal processes.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Data Science & Data Engineering team on ways to approach problems, improve code, and share new techniquesWork with functional team leaders (in Product, Digital Health, Marketing, etc) to explain your analysis, findings, and recommendations.Find opportunities for improvement across the business and assist in decision-making across teams.

< class="h3">What We're Looking For:
  • 4+ years of experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, and data scienceStrong eye for detailHigh degree of proficiency with one of Python or R
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative fieldComfortable writing and debugging production code

< class="h3">Nice To Haves:
  • Experience deploying predictive models in a cloud environment (we use AWS)Experience with batch and real-time compute models
  • Experience with BI and Analytics tools (we use Tableau and Amplitude)
