Forbes is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Software Engineer to join our Backend APIs team. It will be your responsibility to participate in shaping how Forbes addresses the challenges of handling contributor content across our many products. From championing technical design patterns to developing strategies for integrating with new technologies, ranging from search metadata to asynchronous processing, this role has a wide array of exciting problems to solve.

Primary Role:
- Feature development and mentoring for engineering excellence
Core Competencies:
- Full-stack web development ability
- Strong skills in Java as well as Golang, Python, and Node.js
- Comfortable with MongoDB, Firebase, or MySQL
- Knowledge of methods for unit, integration and end to end testing
- Deep understanding of the full technical stack
- BigQuery and/or GCP experience preferred
- Knowledge of Springboot and Gin frameworks is a plus but not required
General Skills:
- Clear and positive communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Drive to mentor and help other engineers grow
- A product-value driven mindset
Daily Expectations:
- Participate and help lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies
- Lead projects on a technical level
- Develop features with high-quality, maintainable, scalable code
- Participate in Code Reviews
- Champion Unit and Integration Testing
- Analyze and resolve emerging technical issues
- Collaborate with product owners and designers
The annual salary range for this role is $100,000 – $150,000.
