What We're Looking For:
We are looking for a Senior QA Manual & Automation Engineer who has a passion for delivering high quality solutions. Working as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, you will oversee and participate in the development, execution, and maintenance of both manual and automation tests and test coverage. You will mentor other team members in how to write tests in our testing framework, review PRs for test coverage and constantly work to make it easy for others to include tests on every piece of work before it merges.
You will also use your experience and good judgment to advocate for and advance the automation testing standards and practices across our growing product development department.
How You Will Make An Impact:
- Work cross-functionally with Engineers, Product Management and UX Design to ensure a smooth, continuous deployment of quality changes to our products
- Reduce manual testing efforts for ongoing development teamwork as you migrate us towards full automation test coverage on each piece of work before it merges and ships
- Identify gaps in test coverage, prioritize them and then work to close them
- Develop test strategies, plans, and maintain automation test data
- Develop and continuously improve both manual and automated tests as new system features and enhancements are developed
- Assist in the identification, selection, and implementation of tools, technologies, and practices that support the overall QA process
- Document and mentor other Engineers in the use of our testing frameworks
- Identify and report to product teams questionable functions, performance concerns, and inconsistencies in production applications
- Contribute to accurate time estimates for automation test development
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of experience working in QA, with at least 3 years writing Unit tests and UI Automation tests in JavaScript / TypeScript
- Significant experience in testing web and mobile applications
- A solid understanding of the Test Pyramid and how to apply it to real-world test coverage for a product under active development
- Prior experience working in a cross-functional team that performs Test Driven Development and/or includes automated test coverage on every coding change
- 3+ years of experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Knowledge of automated testing environments, such as Appium, Webdriver.io, Detox and Test Rail
- High attention to detail, great communication and strong sense of professionalism
- Experience working with remote-first distributed teams
Nice To Have:
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Test Pipelines (such as GitHub Actions, Travis CI or Jenkins)
- Experience working with tools such as GitHub, Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Experience with:
- Unit tests for React and React Native apps in Jest
- UI Automation tests for a React CypressJS
- Knowledge of PHP, Typescript and other web technologies
