Sparksoft is a fast-growing woman-owned small business that provides innovative technical solutions to the federal government. We are seeking a Technical Writer who will create, edit, and maintain Section 508 compliant documents to support a Federal IT contract. Successful Technical Writers will be able to translate technical concepts into writing, and have experience working with standards for writing style, format, and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • · Support the documentation needs of an agile development and maintenance project
  • · Create, edit, and maintain Section 508 compliant documents, including project planning and management documents, deliverables, system life-cycle documents, reports, and meeting minutes
  • · Contribute to the preparation of project planning documents
  • · Review, edit, and update existing documents
  • · Ensure documents adhere to both Sparksoft and customer standards for writing style, format, and quality
  • · Collect information from technical personnel and translate it into clear and easily understandable writing
  • Participate in peer reviews, providing constructive comments and edits that improve the quality of the documentation as well as the quality of the process

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • · Microsoft Visio
  • · Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • · Experience using SharePoint
  • · Excellent English language, grammar, and spelling skills for writing, editing, and proofreading
  • · Create and remediate Section 508 compliance for documentation
  • · Experience working in IT development environment
  • · Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • · Experience working in a collaborative environment; ability to work well under tight deadlines and effectively interact with a wide range of personnel
  • · Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • · Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years

Desired Skills:

  • · Understanding of agile development
  • · Experience working in Health IT

Education:

  • · Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • · 5+ or more years of experience
