Records Manager

Savan Group is seeking a Records Manager to support the implementation of a federal client’s Records Management program as it transitions to a fully electronic record-keeping environment:

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support identification of electronic recordkeeping solutions within Microsoft 365 including the development and application of retention labels
  • Support the development of records management standard operating procedures
  • Advise agency records managers and OCIO staff on how to best leverage technology resources to manage electronic records
  • Support management and oversight of the agency’s records schedule, including the identification and scheduling of unscheduled records
  • Develop communications materials to promote awareness of records management activities, responsibilities, and program changes
  • Perform an assessment of the agency’s records management program and provide recommended changes, including the development of policy and procedure updates
  • Support the completion of site inspections to ensure on-site compliance with agency records management policies
  • Support completion of annual NARA reporting requirements
  • Develop and conduct records management training activities
  • Assists Federal Records Managers responsible for leading, planning and managing the department/agency records management program for both core mission and administrative records, regardless of medium or format.
  • Works to ensure that records/information assets are managed to ensure government accountability, protect the interests of the public, and mitigate records-related litigation risks.
  • Provides technical expertise on agency-wide electronic and non-electronic records management issues

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a Postgraduate degree may substitute for six (6) years of experience.
  • Must possess at least 15 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience supervising small teams
  • Strong analytical skills, superior problem-solving skills, and demonstrates critical thinking
  • Proven ability to anticipate requirements and proactively address new tasks to completion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with Senior Leadership/Executives
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Required Certifications

  • Certified Records Manager (CRM) certification Required
  • M365 certification required

Security Clearance:

  • Requires a fully adjudicated, active (or recently deactivatedless than 2 years) TOP SECRET (DOE Q) clearance; must be able to obtain/maintain a DOE Q clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with National Archives and Records Management (NARA) regulations/standards/guidance HIGHLY desired
