Principal Engineer – Database Development
What you will be doing: You will be working with CTO Dave Simmen and our leading database engineers as they develop and push the PrestoDB open source project forward.
Responsibilities & Competencies
- BS in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years experience or Phd in distributed databases or general distributed systems.
- Competency in Java 8+, C++, or equivalent system languages.
- Expertise in relational and non-relational database management systems.
- Expertise in open source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
- Passion and desire to drive innovation in the open source data community.
- Deep expertise in core software concepts (eg. File systems, data structures, algorithms, operating systems, programming languages, etc.)
- Demonstrated track record taking system features through the phases of conceptualization, design, implementation, test, and deployment.
- Willingness to succeed in a startup environment.
- Documented open source contributions are a major plus.
- Hands-on experience with Presto is a major plus.
