About Flashbots
Flashbots started in 2020 as a research and development organization formed to mitigate the negative externalities and existential risks posed by Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) to smart-contract blockchains, starting with Ethereum. We build products to maximally decentralize public blockchains, redistribute MEV, and empower users. We work closely with our community to ensure that our products have a positive impact, are secure, and can be used in production at scale.
Our Impact
Since the launch of Flashbots, we have had an immense impact on the world of cryptocurrency. The Flashbots Auction was launched in alpha in January 2021 and was quickly adopted by almost all Ethereum miners. Prior to Ethereum’s Merge in 2022, Flashbots launched MEV-Boost, a temporary solution for out-of-protocol proposer-builder separation. MEV-Boost has since been adopted by over 90% of Ethereum validators and has significantly influenced the Ethereum PoS ecosystem. Now, Flashbots continues its journey with the introduction of novel privacy primitives and SUAVE.
Our Research
Flashbots Research is an independent arm of the organization that aims to become the hub of MEV research. In addition to conducting in-house analysis, Flashbots Research collaborates with external researchers at other institutions via an external grants program. Flashbots Research continues to publish seminal research on MEV, covering a wide range of topics including cross-chain MEV, EIP1559 and MEV, how ETH2 affects MEV, SGX and privacy, and more. Prismatic is an embedded integration platform as a service (embedded iPaaS) that empowers B2B software companies to deliver best-in-class integrations to their users. We believe software in every industry has huge potential to positively impact the people who use it, and that better, easier integrations can help software companies make even bigger impacts. Prismatic has rapidly gained traction among B2B SaaS teams ranging from startup to Fortune 100, earning top satisfaction ratings in our industry.
We’re carrying that momentum into 2023 – and that’s where you come in.
Our platform empowers non-developers to build, deploy, and support integrations connecting their products to the other products their customers use. It includes a low-code integration designer, powerful dev tools for when code is the right answer, an embeddable integration marketplace, and purpose-built infrastructure for running integrations at scale.
The Prismatic platform executes millions of integrations per day, and each execution must be secure, isolated, and fast. What You’ll Be Doing 👨💻👩💻 🛰 🛰
You will be responsible for developing ground satellite operations software using Python and AWS services. Don't worry, you do not need to be an expert in satellites or understand space! Satellites are just flying servers you can connect to every 90 minutes but we connect to hundreds of them.
You will develop APIs, integrate with various AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Fargate, and EKS along with focusing on scalability, security, cost, and performance of the software. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including satellite operators and other software engineers, to understand requirements, implement new features, and troubleshoot issues. Your strong knowledge of AWS services and best practices will enable you to optimize resource utilization and automate processes, ultimately contributing to the efficient and reliable operations of thousands of satellites.
BONUS: Understanding security and compliance with software services and architectures
Day to day, you will be a part of the engineering team of frontend and backend engineers working in an Agile Scrum environment.
