We’re looking for a seasoned Creative Director to lead our design practice, continue its growth and excellence, and produce astonishing work that creates value for our clients and stands out amongst our peers. In addition to leading our design practice, there is potential for Constructive’s Creative Director to be a member of the company’s Leadership Team—working closely with our other discipline Directors and company Founder as we shape company direction, practices, and culture. Given this leadership track and the critical nature of this role, it’s vitally important that our new Creative Director be someone who is looking to invest long-term in their new role—and be equally invested in by Constructive.
If you’re a passionate and driven design leader who pushes the boundaries of innovation, has a discerning eye for visual fundamentals and details, know how to help other designers achieve new heights, and are eager to grow your business acumen and influence, then please read on.
About the Role
Constructive is a design-forward company, and our Creative Director is the strategic and creative leader of our design practice who ensures that we produce work for our clients that’s strategically sound and creatively inspired.
Within Constructive, you’ll shape design ethos and process; inspire, mentor, and support designers to create stand-out work that deliver results; collaborate with our strategy, content, and engineering teams to create purpose-driven brand experiences; and work hands-on designing for select projects that offer significant opportunities for impact.
With our clients, you’ll provide strategic facilitation to align design solutions with their brand priorities; expand their thinking and inspire them with what’s possible; collaboratively design new ways forward; provide consultative guidance and reassurance; and identify new opportunities for us to create value.
Your Core Responsibilities
Here are the primary activities and outcomes that our Creative Director is accountable for and by which your success and contributions will be measured.
Design Practice
The Creative Director is accountable for the quality of design that our team and contractors produce. You make sure the design we create is polished and fundamentally strong, meets our standards of quality before it is shared with clients—and continuously sets that bar higher.
The Creative Director cultivates our design culture. You set the tone for our design practice and build team camaraderie. You’re a mentor who encourages exploration, teaches, and clearly demonstrates what our standard of excellence looks like so that our team knows how to achieve it and is consistently inspired to.
The Creative Director leads the strategic design process. You advance best practices, ensure that our work is aligned with strategic goals from the start, ensure that design concepts translate faithfully into cohesive design systems that are efficiently produced, and that design intent carries through in interactive digital products as they’re built.
The Creative Director establishes design strategy. You facilitate design strategy dialogues and workshops with clients to verbalize and visualize ideas that are aligned with brand priorities. You carry this strategy through to your team’s execution and level up your team to provide this same leadership for client projects, as appropriate (while remaining accountable for the client experience).
The Creative Director is responsible for leading presentations to persuasively articulate to clients how our work delivers on their strategic goals, encourage feedback, and make them feel listened to when providing it. You identify right-fit opportunities for your team to present their work so that our best ideas advance and the client has a great experience (while remaining accountable).
The Creative Director is responsible for our visual brand. You’ll work closely with our Founder to create a vision for our brand that’s aligned with our identity, then ensure that all of our materials, from marketing communications to the documents we produce for clients, are polished and cohesive.
Management & Business Development
The Creative Director manages and mentors their team. You conduct regular 1-1s to establish professional development goals, support achieving them, and chart growth paths. You conduct formal reviews for your direct reports and make recommendations to ownership on salary and bonuses.
The Creative Director builds our design talent and capacity. You identify design team needs, evaluate and make recommendations for new hires, and cultivate a bench of vetted, trusted design consultants who add capacity and specialized skills as needed.
The Creative Director supports design resourcing. You participate in weekly resourcing meetings to help assign your team to projects that are well-suited to their expertise, provide project/team health updates, and ensure that your team is well-utilized.
The Creative Director supports Project Managers by understanding project scope and budget, providing feedback as project needs exceed these so that clients can be informed, and communicating on design team performance and progress so that PMs can effectively manage the projects for which they are accountable.
The Creative Director helps evaluate and estimate new business. You’ll review RFPs with our Founder, who leads business development, provide clarifying questions, develop estimates with other Directors, and participate in new business meetings and presentations.
The Creative Director produces thought leadership. You are the lead voice for our design practice, and we want you to shine. You’ll work with our Lead Content Marketer to produce occasional articles, webinars, and workshops, and ideally give webinars and presentations.

The ability to build relationships and grow a strong team, characterized by a collaborative mindset, clear communication and expectation-setting, and the ability to lift up your people—especially when the sledding is tough.
Great presentation and speaking skills—the ability to persuasively articulate ideas without being pushy and solicit/steer client feedback.
An allergic reaction to mediocre work, an unrelenting eye for detail, and an insistence that any work that ships meets our highest ambitions while creating exceptional value for our clients.
Willingness to do whatever’s needed to meet our client commitments and deliver work that we’re proud to put our name on.

Flexible vacation - Take time off when you need it, we trust you (no less than 4 weeks each year).
No external pressures - Our users are king, we do what's best for them. We're self-funded, and don't have any investors, so we can make the right decisions for our customers without worrying about artificial deadlines or financial targets.

Meaningful work - You will take initiative and ownership to see things through to completion. We won't micro-manage you. And your work will be measured by your results.
You'll be working in the two greatest markets in the world these days... Software & Security.
You will have great hardware and tools to work with.
Make a difference to the lives of 1,000s of ethical hackers designing and building the tools they need.
First, please read The Unnecessary Fragmentation of Design Jobs (https://jonas.do/writing/2017-03-28-the-unnecessary-fragmentation-of-design-jobs/), and if it resonates with you, keep going; we might be on to something!
Product designers at Security Roots are always working on different things. You may be working on polishing up an existing feature, implementing a design with HTML/CSS, pitching something brand new, or fundamentally rethinking how we do something.
Our tool, Dradis Framework, is used by 1,000s of hacking experts in 44 countries around the world. We're looking for folks who like to solve problems and build a business and product that people genuinely love to interact with.
We're small, self-funded, profitable, and have been in business for 12 years.
What we offer and what we are looking for:
You'll be a trusted and key member of our team, and this is (some of) what you'll end up doing on a day-to-day basis:
Pitching and designing new features to improve the experience for our users.
Implementing your designs in code, while working closely with the rest of our team. You must write well-structured HTML/CSS.
Discovering opportunities to enhance and improve our design & development process.
Improving our existing products and internal systems. We want to learn from you as you learn from us.
Prioritizing and deciding what features we should tackle next.
Our stack:
Rails 6 (although we started with Rails 1.2 in 2007)
Javascript, Stimulus, CoffeeScript and jQuery
Sass and Bootstrap
Postgres and MySQL
Sinatra, Resque, Middlemanapp, Chef, Vagrant, Nginx, Unicorn,...
We're looking for a solid Product Designer with «adequate» experience who is comfortable in a 100% distributed team and is self-driven.
This is a full-time position for the right candidate and it has an immediate start date. Work 100% remotely on a flexible schedule with reasonable overlap with EU business hours.
What's the opportunity?
We're looking to hire our 10th full-time employee (https://dradis.com/story.html#team), a well-rounded Product Designer.
In this role, you will learn a ton and be part of a small, global, and user-centered company. You'll have the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of 100s of ethical hackers. Plus, as a small team, you will have a lot of choice about what to work on, and there are still a lot of untapped opportunities for you to grow as the company does.
About you
Ideally you've held a remote position before, or you've held a similar position of responsibility in a traditional organization but now are looking to improve your work-life balance.
You are a well-rounded inidual, work is not everything in life, you may have a family and social life. You work hard when it's work time and are able to switch off when it isn't.
You don't think of yourself as a "UI Designer", or a "Web Designer" or a "Front End developer". You're an inidual that can bring it together. Someone that loves Getting Real (https://dradis.com/careers/#books).
You must write well-structured HTML/CSS. Basic Javascript or Rails skills are a plus, but not required. A background in Information Security wouldn't hurt either.
You're comfortable communicating with others verbally and in writing. Our team is spread across the world, and so are our users.
You are organized, like to be on top of your responsibilities and don't let things slip through the cracks. You will be sure to include the name of your favorite tv series as part of your application.
You believe in giving back to the community. We started (https://dradis.com/story.html) with an open-source project and to this day we remain firm believers of open-source and giving back. A lot of what you will be creating with the team will be released as open-source.
Benefits of working with us
Work anywhere - We're 100% remote.
Flexible work hours - Provided you have reasonable overlap with the team (roughly within US/EU business hours).
Great salary - You will be making more than others in your region.

We’re moving through uncharted territory with brand new design challenges around chat, UI, brand, ToV and applied machine learning that you can’t just look up the answer to – across native app and Messenger platforms. We’re a small but growing design team with an excellent bunch of developers who are building faster than we can design. To ensure we can keep iterating quickly, we need a maintainable and scalable design system that is built for change, and won’t put a ceiling on creativity. And of course, we are solving money problems that make a very real and tangible difference to our users.

This role will involve hands-on design work as part of a squad but you’ll also get the chance to mentor and develop a small team of designers. You will be:
- Designing and owning the financial relationship that a user has with Cleo, from engaging with budgeting and insights that help them manage their money to product-specific flows

- You’re impact-driven. You’re excited that an idea you and the team have on a Monday could be live and seeing results by the Friday
- Used to working in a cross-functional squad and seeking out feedback
- You love finding new & improved ways to help our users meet their goals. But you also understand how to break down your work into the most important parts to test and validate
- A strong communicator who is capable of bringing people together and establishing clarity on direction
- You understand experimentation & analysis and incorporate them into your design decisions
- Passionate about craftsmanship and the impact of design
- Familiar with design systems, design DNA and brand experience
- Experience working with a B2C freemium or subscription model would be a huge plus!

We're Feeling Good, a mobile app focused on solving the world largest health problem....mental health!
We're VC backed and launching in 6 weeks. We need an expert designer to come in and help us out. We have a designer on the team but we're under resourced given our tight timeline.
We need help on the product and brand design side prior to launch and are looking forward to working with you!
Hi, I am looking for a animation video expert who can make an explainer on a concept I have ben working on that has to do with using sensors to fully define the map and feed the info to autonomous devices.
We're looking for someone to help w/ email design - we have 3 campaigns per week and various flow updates. We have our template design set and a designer we currently work with but looking to move faster + upgrade our social content / new templates.
If initial work goes well our goal is for this to be ongoing, estimated ~10 hours per week with design of social graphics, ads and other related projects.
I'm a product and growth guy with extensive marketplace experience, and my cofounder is a talented full-stack engineer with deep crypto experience. We come from companies like Yelp and Coinbase. We're founding a design-led startup that changes how creatives make money online, and we're looking for an exceptional and versatile design co-founder who is excited to explore and build something new.
A little about me: I've built & led product teams at four consumer companies over the last decade. At Creative Market, my team grew users by 2077% before we were acquired. I've built 0-1 products at scale (e.g., Yelp, where Neaby Jobs reached $16M ARR in less than a year) & raised a $335K seed round from NFX & 500 startups in 2015. Most recently, I was VP of Product at Shutterstock, responsible for a $500M P&L, and led a product org with over 150 extended people. I believe software should be beautiful, lightweight, and fun. Using them should make you feel something. Good products are user-centric, but their founders have an opinion about the world they want to create. I'm even-keeled, but work is deeply emotional, & I put tremendous value in the people I work alongside. I'm analytical, but I believe bringing something new into the world is art.
Our values:
High impact - Let's build something with the possibility of transforming the way people work or live. Ideally, this is a company we can work on for the next 10+ years.
Shared vision - as cofounders, we work together to form the vision, crafting the product, and determining our strategy.
Empowered team - bring in the smartest team-players we can find and give them the support and autonomy to craft the best possible company. We want a collection of creative peers, rather than top-down thinking.
Humans, not robots - our culture is candid but kind. We treat people fairly and consider how we can best support each other's growth, not just what's best for the company.
We are looking someone who shares similar values & ambitions. We don't have all the answers, and want want to find an open-minded and passionate partner with the desire to explore the idea maze.
Let's build.
